Our product Glittertind is inspired by the Norwegian mountain with the same name
Glittertind is the second-highest mountain in Norway, located in the Jotunheimen mountain range in Southern Norway. Standing at an elevation of 2,465 meters (8,087 feet) above sea level, it is a prominent peak known for its rugged beauty and challenging terrain. Glittertind is part of the larger Jotunheimen National Park, renowned for its dramatic landscapes, glaciers, and alpine flora.
The mountain offers various routes for climbers and hikers, with the most popular ascent starting from the Spiterstulen or Juvasshytta mountain lodges. Along the way, adventurers are treated to breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and valleys.
Glittertind is also notable for its glacier, which was historically considered the highest point in Norway until 2003 when the glacier's height diminished, leaving the nearby peak of Galdhøpiggen as the highest point. Nonetheless, Glittertind remains a significant and iconic mountain in Norwegian mountaineering lore.
