Falketind is a prominent mountain located in the Jotunheimen range in Norway. Standing at 2,067 meters (6,781 feet), it is known for its dramatic peaks and rugged terrain, making it a popular destination for hikers and climbers.
The mountain is situated in the Lom municipality in Innlandet county and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscapes, including glaciers, lakes, and other peaks in the Jotunheimen National Park.
Falketind holds historical significance as it was first ascended in 1820 by the pioneering Norwegian climbers Christian Boeck, Baltazar Mathias Keilhau, and the local guide Ole Urdi, marking it as one of the early notable climbs in the region. The climb itself remains a challenging but rewarding experience, attracting adventurers from around the world.
